James_m 0 Posted April 26, 2007 Hi all, bit of an odd one. Binned my powersteering yesterday(you was right Kieran rubbish, and i could'nt stop it leaking ) so had the car up on axle stands Casually put the steering left to right, for no real reason other than i felt like it, only to find it was binding and self centering for no reason.... I had a look and both drop links are bent and hit the hub Rubbish picture Nothing feels that amiss on the road, though i havent really lent on it through corners yet, but i havent felt any of the binding when its on the road. Both sides are the same though the drop link is more bent on one side. I cant work this out, surely there is only one way you can put a droplink on!? They have done around 50 miles btw Any ideas as to why please post! Cheers James.

welshpug 1,675 Posted April 26, 2007 just a shot in the dark like but you never know! are they bolted to the front or back of the tab on the shock?

taylorspug 7 Posted April 26, 2007 (edited) You have the shocks on the wrong sides, the tab to attach the drop link should be towards the back of the car. Drop the shocks and swap them over and all will be well again. Edited April 26, 2007 by taylorspug
pacey205 2 Posted April 26, 2007 (edited) Probably just my eyes decieving me but are your struts on the right sides of the car ? Only the droplink connection is meant to face towards the rear of the car. Like this: Michael Edit: Spent too long buggering about uploading the photo and got beaten to it Edited April 26, 2007 by pacey205
