r.u.sure 0 Posted April 25, 2007 (edited) Hi Hopefully somebody will be able to help with this problem my car seems to of developed. The car is a phase 2 1.9 gti with gassed flowed head and Piper 270 cam and full Magnex manifold and system, the way the car was set up it used to feel a bit lumpy up to just about 3000 rpm. Took her out for a blast tonight and she seems to of developed a miss-fire, strange thing about it is though once you get past 3500-4000 rpm she goes like an absolute rocket, then, not every time but sometimes, when the revs get back down to about 3500 the miss-fire comes back. I've tried removing the leads one at a time to see if she sounds the same but that just seems to make the miss-fire sound worse. Also if I give her a bit of rev when stationary it nearly sounds as if it going to start pinking. Does anyone have any ideas please. r.u.sure 0 Posted April 26, 2007 O.k problem solved, well not solved but know what needs to happen anyway. Just popped to a garage and had a compression test done, the cylinder nearest the dizzy is only showing 60 and the plug is black, the bloke at the garage said I may of bent a valve , heads got to come off anyway.
