Hmmm, you shouldn't be expecting too much from ANY speakers in there, no matter how expensive. The reason is a 13cm speaker in a rather flimsy metal mount which is not really acoustically sealed front to back, is never going to produce sufficient bass to produce any vibrations or rattles.

Ideally those speakers are just to raise the sound stage a little in conjunction with the fronts (and give rear passengers some music I suppose) and will not compete in anyway with what was produced by the 6x9's just removed. Also ideally if they were/are powered by an external amplifier, you'd not feed these little speakers (bless 'em ;) ) with much, if anything below 80hz or maybe 100-120hz. Doing this and having even a diddy sub in the boot will make a massive difference if decent sound is what you're after.

Not wanting to get technical, but just don't expect too much.

Rich :)

just wondering if you managed to get anything good for your rear speakers? I got some alpine type e 13cm coax speakers to replace my rear speakers but actually wiring in my head unit i found my rears were awesome as they were. Im using the aplines in the front now and they sound great considering theyre only type E's and cost £30  Also a 10" JL or such like in the boot would provide tons more bass then any 6x9 would and looks/sounds much cleaner.
