Best Way To Get A Snapped Caliper Bleed Nipple Out?

Recommended Posts

Anton green

What is the preferred way to get a snapped caliper bleed nipple out? -And what diameter are they so I can pick up a new one ready?

(It's a nipple on the rear calipers, in case they are different sizes front to rear btw)

if you cut it off square (thing cutting disc on an angle grinder) you should then be able to drill down it carefully with a small bit, then increase the size till you're close to the threads, an easy out should be able to pull out the remains then.

failing that drill it out to the next size and fit a larger nipple?

If it's an alloy caliper like the bendix fronts you could just dip that bi of the caliper in some battery acid for ann hour or two

or take it to Beckett & Garners (in Sheffield) with a spare bleed nipple, they charge about £9 last time I had it done.
