GazRallye 0 Posted April 23, 2007 Does anyone know what kind of material the convertible roofs are made from, i'm guessing its some kind of cotton or synthetic material to keep the water out. And also if anyone knows what the sound absorbtion coefficient of it, i would like to know but to be honest i don't really expect an answer to that! cheers Gaz

Beastie 1 Posted April 30, 2007 And in addition to the above: Double Duck which is treated canvas. I replaced my hood in 2002 with a new item from Prestige Auto Trim and at that time they offered 5 different materials ranging from dirt cheap to expensive: 3 different PVC hoods from cheap and cheerful through original spec to better than original, a double duck hood and a mohair hood. From experience replacing pvc hoods with double duck or mohair items is not to be undertaken lightly: The latter two materials are substantially thicker and making them fit a vehcicle desigmed for thinner fabric is possible but extrememely fiddly. steve@cornwall 100 Posted May 1, 2007 The one I bought off ebay was a fabric backed pvc, so as a cheap pvc hood, I guess all the pvc are fabric backed
