Lift Reverse To Under 5th

hi guys iam dropping in a new engine in my gti and currently it has lift reverse and the newer box is under 5th, i know that i just dont need to connect cable but i was told i need th adjust the rods??? adjust them how exactly?

and do i need a new clutch cable ive been told?

you need a BE3 clutch pedal and cable, linkages will be fine, unless its the MI box in which case they need fettling but I dont know how exactly.
