Guest Scrapy Posted April 20, 2007 Just bought a sony CDX-GT300S head unit but it comes with wires coming from one plug then seperating into two socket connectors. One for speakers and one for power. This is all well and good but there is a different plug in the dash which has all the wires in one,not sure if its standard or not cuz its never had a radio. Just wanted to know if the was a connector to bring them together? Any help is much appreciated thanks.
Super Josh 4 Posted April 20, 2007 The head unit probably has the industry standard 'ISO' connector on it. Post up a piccy, if you can. If it does, you can buy a plug in adaptor from any decent car accessory shop to adapt the 205 loom Josh
DrSarty 90 1 Cars Posted April 20, 2007 Most good car hifi/spares places, including Halfrauds, will have some connectors designed for exactly that. They're usually listed as manufacturer and may be called for example a Ford 90-92 Iso harness. Summink like that anyway. A smaller motor factor or proper car hifi place would be a better bet, where you can explain the age etc of your car and even nip outside and test fit. The Sony connectors you're talking about will accept one of these iso harnesses, you just need to get some hifi shop to give some customer service and find a match. If you get stuck, post again or PM because they're only wires that need joining, and you can always isolate the wires and remove the plugs with a bit of soldering and heat shrink. DrSarty 90 1 Cars Posted April 20, 2007 It WILL be standard. Don't flap about it dude, get down that car hifi shop and they'll whip a packet of the shelf and match a lead/connector set between the set and your car faster than you can say "Flockinaucinnihinnipillification". taylorspug 7 Posted April 20, 2007 Ive got the same type of connector on my now broken Sony minidisc head unit. Get down Halfrauds and they will sort you out with a cable to link car to stereo. Job done!
