Jrod 7 Posted April 18, 2007 Right I'm in the process of making my own brake lines, was drums at the rear but now has discs. I don't actually know what ports in the master cylinder should go where. Front 2 to front brakes and rear 2 to rear brakes? When looking at it from the front of the car the port to the front left, does that go to the offside front? front right to nearside front etc? SPGTi 2 Posted April 18, 2007 It is a diagonal split as std. Steve
Jrod 7 Posted April 18, 2007 So is it best to keep it that way?
Martin W 0 Posted April 18, 2007 So is it best to keep it that way? If your planning to run a brake bias valve in the car you'll need to run the fronts off the front 2 ports and run 1 rear line through the bias valve (blanking off the 2nd rear port). If your not planning to run a bias valve I'd run with the diagonal split as standard.
Sandy 191 Posted April 18, 2007 Depends if you want a bias valve or Hydraulic handbrake. Diagonal split works well with rear limiting valves (that are working ), but if you want adjustable bias or a sharp handbrake for tight turns, it's much simpler to plumb front/rear. Jrod 7 Posted April 18, 2007 I am running a bias valve. I have 2 T's so was going to go into a T at the master cylinder though a single line in the car and back into a T at the back before going to the brakes. Is it ok to do it this way Or would I just be better blanking?
SPGTi 2 Posted April 18, 2007 Run front brakes of 2 front ports, left and right respectively. Blank one rear port Run one line inside to bias valve, then hydraulic handbrake. T under rear seats Pass lines out on either side using bulkhead connectors. Job done Steve
Jrod 7 Posted April 18, 2007 Slightly offtopic but didn't want to start yet another thread. Just running the battery cable inside, is it safe to run it next to the fuel line (it's braided)
