Heater Controls

Im thinking of mounting three gauges in the heater control slot on my Phase 1. I want to retain the ability to turn the heater on and off (not worried about direction - will be permanantly on the windscreen, and will be permanantly set at about half temp). is this possible? Can I just provide an auxillary fan switch?

Anybody done this already and can give me some advice?

Done some searches and found some info about the rhoestat and relay etc but nothing definitive

Thanks

Rich

don't know about p1 but I can bypass my p1.5 by bridging the two yellow thick wires.

Yes it can, on my old phase 2 the blower strength knob didn't work so the previous owner replaced it with a big red on off switch. Don't know how it was done though.

at a guess i would say you just find the two wires that go into the blower panel for the strength and just put a switch in it instead . alll the dial does is control the voltage going to the fan motor.
