To Ground Or From Ground....

Meet one of the brown multiplugs that attaches to my pug (the MALE end).

post-2857-1176316849.jpg

Back at the end of the summer I got carried away and 'hacked' out the old ECU loom, now its time to put it back together I'm a little suck (I'm installing a MS)! Yes, I know, I should have taken more care etc, but I got carried away with the moment!

Back to the problem!

The ground wire the yellow and green one, does this cut off wire need to attach to ground, or does the other side of the connector attach it to ground? If you follow me.

The same with the red wire, from what I've read its a switched live... But which side is the switched live, if I connect a multimeter to the stub (when its connected to the rest of the loom) should I get a switch +12 or not?

I dont have enough of an assembled car to try these things out at the moment... So any advice or guidence would be good.

Thanks for you time.

theres a thread somweher with diagrams of what each wire is for which should prove useful. I think glpoomobile started it but I may be wrong on that bit.

I've seen that thread, but it doesnt give me the quite the info I'm looking for, I dont think!

Yes, the red is a switched live.... And yes the yellow / green wire is ground... But which side of the connector actually goes back to the switch live source and live wise with the ground.

But I might be missing something... It has been known!

Yes +12 switched.

That earth wire comes from the ignition amp on the jetronic loom so you shouldn't need it imo.

The car side of that plug gives the 12v switched feed.

Graham.
