Pas Leak

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Got a terrible PAS leak at the moment, and im not sure whats the best way to go about sealing it up.

First, i have a few pics...

As you can see it is kinked slightly to the left, not sure if thats the problem in itself.

The bit that goes into the pump.

Ive tried PTFE tepe, pointless, as its not the thread thats leaking, and various types of plumbers o ring, but nothing has worked.

It leaks from the back of the pipe, fluid leaking under the threaded part.

Im not sure if the problem hose is actually OE, i got the entire setup from Dino's car, and i know there was some custom pipes on it, this probably one of them? so i dont want to go to peugeot yet. Miles?

Ive got another pump im tempted to swop over, but i dont think thats the problem... think its to do with the above bit that goes into the pump....

Any ideas welcome!

Cheers James.

Is there meant to be some sort of metal olive in the join?

Personally I'd just rip it all out and run it unassisted

I've got all the bits going spare if you get stuck - pipes, pump etc.

Let me know if you need anything.

Hmm, possibly, but there wasnt when i got it, just a slightly perished rubber seal simular to the above.

Everybody i have asked on this so far has suggested ripping the system out. i must say, it does seem a tad overlight when your moving.... i'll give it a chance though

Just had a look at the parts cd, and peugeot list nothing for sealing it. Cheers Peugeot.

Id speak to Miles, as you said thats a special made up pipe which Miles must of got sorted for dinos conversion.

Or if not look in the yellow pages for hose and hydrolics companys and go round and see what they can do

The end is just a std Peugeot fitting as the new pipe was fitted on the end of that due to odd thread sizes, Is the 'O' ring in good condition as it looks abit damaged in that pic
