Car Slow Reving Past 4000

well the car has never been right since i had it,

 

but it wa track at llandow all day saturday and it is really slow reving

 

everyone passed me..pmsl well on the straights,

 

took out some mates who aggreed that over 4000 is pulled slowly,

 

no miss fires or anything, just slow reving

 

any ideas???

 

i have changed and swapped so much, i just cant work out what it is

 

my next options is to throw some octance booster in and try and advance the timing ?

is the vaccuum advance working? other than that Id get it RR tuned by someone reccomended in your area.

it has a brand new vacum advance from peugeot, i even put a new pipe on

unable to answer that, as i dont have the kit,

 

but i'll book it into a local rolling road and see what comes of it

Just take it to an mot station, bung them a few quid and ask to put it on their Co machine. Personally whenever ive set up a standard engine ive found between 1.5-2.0 Co to work well. Take a look at your HC level aswell.

Sounds like the exact same symptoms a friend is having with his. I checked his fueling and all was well. He has the same D6A engine you have in yours so could be the same problem.

Have a look at the colour of your plugs, make sure they are a light nutty brown and not a whiteish colour. If you are concerned about the fueling pop up Stu's tonight and i'll give it a check.
