johnrobertgordon 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Depends on several factors, Wind speed, position of the moon........haha no only joking. I had a 309 Mi16 with an Mi16 box, I got just over 132mph on a public motorway (not private road because saying that is just gay!) It will depend on what gearbox you go for, but in my opinion you cant beat the standard Mi box for all round performance, the first few gears are nice and short but 5th gear is quite long and so motorways are not a ball ache like when running a 1.6 box. sorr 0 Posted April 9, 2007 This is with a 1.9 box with 1.6 final drive. Note this was not on the public road. It was in the garage on stands.
r.u.sure 0 Posted April 9, 2007 (edited) Note this was not on the public road. It was in the garage on stands Thanks !!! You've just made my day with that Edited April 9, 2007 by r.u.sure
johnrobertgordon 0 Posted April 9, 2007 (edited) I just pisses me of reading "on a friends private road" typing that is as good as typing on the motorway. Edited April 9, 2007 by johnrobertgordon
steve@cornwall 100 Posted April 9, 2007 Note this was not on the public road. It was in the garage on stands. Obviously, cos the handbrake is on
johnrobertgordon 0 Posted April 9, 2007 So if that is actually on axel stands, is that an acurate example of the speeds reachable with that box? No rolling resistance and no wind to contend with ect?
Doof 11 Posted April 9, 2007 If people are worried why not just type "i did 132 on the motorway"...no units of speed means i could have been doing 132 mm/fortnight.
engine killer 6 Posted April 9, 2007 This is with a 1.9 box with 1.6 final drive.Note this was not on the public road. It was in the garage on stands. i have the same gearbox mated with Mi and did 220kph twice in a long straight. but it was quite scary.
sorr 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Obviously, cos the handbrake is on Well spotted that man. I was actually testing if my speedo was accurate and I can confirm it is not. It should be showing 137.
Garry 1 Posted April 9, 2007 wot sort of top speed do pug 205s with a mi16 engine converstions Between 135 and 145ish. Not very stable at those sorts of speeds though.

pete1986 2 Posted April 9, 2007 i borrowed my mums 1.3 fiesta a couple of months ago, got it to 115. 130 from an mi16 doesnt seem that much when compared. You would think it could do more. Mind you it did take a whole lap of the M25 to get there!
M_R_205 5 1 Cars Posted April 9, 2007 (edited) cracked 135 ish (to scared too look for more tha a split seccond) in a tuned 19 with a 19 box, going down a hill on a 60 road tee hee however no idea how acurate the speedo was, point is, it was f***ing fast, and the poor cooper s was a dot in the mirror :( i have a vid somewhere but u cant see the needle edit for ppl from sunderland, the greyhound road or dog road what ever u call it Edited April 9, 2007 by M_R_205
