Guest velocity raptor Posted April 8, 2007 help me i need a beam, ive just fitted a new one off ebay and the bastid that sold it me said it was a standad beam, but no its on its arse and the tyre rub the tops of the arches and filler neck. ive had a looksee to see if i can modify the arches to accomodate the drop, but to no avail and the aforementioned bastid wont take the beam back. So i need another beam or somebody to unseize the torsion bars cos ive had a go today and they are seized fookin solid, big slide hammer and oxy/acetylene bottles couldnt shift em!!!! Please help i have readies ready and beer in the fridge
Jrod 7 Posted April 8, 2007 Take it all apart and be brutal, big sledge hammer and hit the trailing arms out and it will pull the torsion bar of the opposite end. Once you do that it's easy to get it out of the trailing arm

Once you do that it's easy to get it out of the trailing arm dont really wanna do that, but may resort to it if all else fails, the beam HAS been refurbed fairly recently but the bars are stuck in good style just a pity that its too bleedin low
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted April 9, 2007 If its been apart fairly recently then it shouldn't take much to knock it all apart again, I can strip a beam thats never been apart before in under an hour. Did you have the lock nut off the inner end of the torsion bar? Graham.
