jim205GTI 3 Posted April 5, 2007 Bah........... Went to put my key in the barrel today and it goes in but not fully ... about 50mm off fully engaged .......... so of course can't turn it ......... any ideas how i could solve it? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
jim205GTI 3 Posted April 6, 2007 Ah ha figured the problem.............. shined a light down the barrel and there's a metal tab down the middle of it..... looks like it fits into the slot on the key. I am guessing thats come down and now won't go back up ( or down) so now the key won't fit in.................. ........ Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jim205GTI 3 Posted April 6, 2007 Haha yes i meant 5mm........... and now to compound the problem the key has bloody snapped ..... and i can't find the spare ...................... By the looks of it the easiest will be to source an upper steering part and lock set from a 205 being broken If you have a dremel, you could just grind the small lugs from the bottom of the lock that hold it into the upper column surround.
