Ahl 4 Posted April 6, 2007 From the above link: "Paul then explained to me that to get an accurate assesment of the Vauxhall paintwork he would need to take 25 individual readings from each panel to build up a 3d picture in his head" "I made a mixture of claylube from zymol autowash and zero ppm r.o water" "He then pointed out to me that he had noticed a slight imperfection to do with glass distortion which he proceeded to show me on the headlights....I have to be honest i thought they were fine but he said he would do glass correction on them and make them perfect and he proceeded to skim what he said was approxumatly 1 micron off with a diamond polish until they were crystal clear" "I had instructed my dealership Greens of Holborough not to touch the car upon delivery off the transporter even to the point of leaving all window stickers on" clearly a complete tit with too much time on his hands. its an astra FFS! lol! mickie 3 Posted April 7, 2007 haha he's still done a good job of it tho
phonecomz 0 Posted April 7, 2007 it's a great job no doubt, but i think he should have an aston not an astra... one puddle and he will av to start again. It's gonna cost more in polish than unleaded to run the thing at his rate LOL ! I think all said and done he ought to get a life, well over the top.
Andy_C 50 Posted April 11, 2007 Perhaps - and from what I've heard he could have bought an M3 for the money spent on the VXR but his car, his choice and Paul Dalton is probably the best at what he does in the UK
Tony_205 1 Posted April 11, 2007 A very interesting read i thought!
Doof 11 Posted April 11, 2007 I can't see why so many people call the guy a knob. Its an astra yea, but its his pride and joy. I mean how many people on here have cleaned up engines and sprayed them knowing that within a few weeks oil leaks they'll be an oily mess. He obviously enjoys it and he's done a damn good job, fair play to him.
jackherer 543 Posted April 11, 2007 After the wax had taken on the bodywork after about 5 minutes we proceeded to gently buff off..... I don't mind what they do in the privacy of their own garage but I don't want to read about it...
feb 47 Posted April 11, 2007 I was reading about this the other day and thought it was a bit OTT but each to their own i guess.. It's a very thorough job though whatever said but if a scratch happens to the car after all this you will get a heart attack. You would be worried to drive it not to dirty it as well.
