Should There Be A Gasket Between The

I think there is a gasket on the S16 but not the Mi16 (so says hearsay) is this correct?

If your on about the join between the housing and the head, i have never seen one in the head set's ive had and so used a sealant. I think it is metal to metal and so a thin sealant is used.

 

If your on about the actual thermostat itself then this is usualy 'O' rings or other rubber seal.

Yeah, just use an instant gasket type sealant for that joint. I use silicon on mine.

i didnt use anything and it seemed fine. oh well.

Silicone'd it this afternoon. Will fill the coolant sys on Sunday methinks then go for a test drive around Derbyshire
