Hydraulic Handbrake Is Now Mounted Up

Recommended Posts

Anton green

My hydraulic handbrake assembly will share the same area inside the center console as the gear shifter, I will need to either buy a gaitor with two holes for shifters in it, or make one I suppose..

Do you know if a double hole gaitor is out there already to buy, and on which car can I find it? (I'm thinking 4x4s)

Thats the closest match I have come across so far for fitment. I will be putting the carpets and interior back in and fancy using equiptment which will have as standard a feel as possible.

Looking at the ebay auction although it would be much easier, I am tempted to source another 205 gaitor and get busy with the sewing machine as I couldnt picture the landy rubber in my interior

Sorry, no help on the gator front! But, Anton, Are you still running the std mechanical handbrake too? I take it the car is still road legal?

I've been wondering recently about the best way around running both, with still being able to fit the HH in an easily grab-able place, yet not too near the Gearstick etc.

Can you reach that?

Mine's on the right of, and slightly behind the gear-stick. And the handle's a fair bit longer too. I've got the longest arms in the world but don't think I'd be able to use that very well...

The original handbrake is still in position with its new cables and adjusted up nicely . I'd kick myself if I found a parking space but couldn't use it due to the slope of the road! Plus there are the legalities to consider, cables are needed for an MOT pass as far as I believe.

The positioning felt fine when I offered it up to see if it would be in a comfortable place so thats where it got mounted. Time will tell however, and I may have to move it, or more likely extend the handle (which I was considering doing anyway). I'm a fairly big guy and need the space on the drives side of the gearstick. If I end up moving the HHbrake I'll post a pic of where I move it to, but I doubt I'll find the truelly perfect position as space really is at a premium for me.
