Grim.Badger 15 Posted March 29, 2007 Does anyone know how you re-wire an ECU plug and the Bosch connectors? I haven't got any spare that I can dismember.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted March 29, 2007 How exactly do you mean? I've managed to get the pins out of various plugs on the management loom (injectors etc) when the plastic has been broken & re-fitted them into a new connector with no rpoblem. The ecu plug looks to be the same style of pin but you have to open the plug to get to the back of them to get the pins out. Graham.
Grim.Badger 15 Posted March 30, 2007 I only needed to know if its possible to and how to remove the pins, so I think you've answered my question
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted March 30, 2007 I only needed to know if its possible to and how to remove the pins, so I think you've answered my question It is definately possible but if you can I'd get a practice loom before you start doing it on one you need. A fine jewellers screwdriver is needed to push the locking tab on the pin down so the pin can be extracted & then you can bend it back out before clipping it into the new connector. If you come to the meet on Sunday I'll try to bring a couple of donor connectors along to show you how & for you to practice on. Graham.
Owain1602 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Its fairly straight forward. Some plugs have a way of locking the pins in after they have cliped in so you may need to undo the lock first. You then use a tool that presses the small tabs in so you can take them out the back. I have a set of about 20 different tools specially made for different plugs but most bosch ones are similar.
