Which Type Of Brakes Do I Have?

I have an 89 Phase 1.5 GTi 1.6.

What sort of brakes do I have? Girling or Bendix.

I would also be grateful if someone could explain the difference between the two types, pros, cons etc.

 

Sorry if this is stupid question but it is puzzling me somewhat.

as far as im aware its just the design. some have reported a clicking when reversing. just get some 1.9gti front calipers on there

Second stupid question then, what are the differences between the 1.6 and 1.9 setup, I asume it's worth doinf then and would some 1.9 calipers just drop in? ( I know, that's two questions)
