Hello,

As I'm hopefully working over the summer, I am hoping to do a few upgrades to the suspension to make the car handle even better than it already does...

After numerous searches of the forums, here are my initial ideas

1) Front suspension Puly Bushes by TI Motorsport.

2) grpN rear beam mounts, (will these fit on an GT?)

3) new tyres

then after those if I have any more spare money

4) upgrade to gti spec front springs and dampers as I read this makes the handling much better

So, what do people think, do you reckon this will make a significant difference?

id say a decent set of tyres should be the top of your list imho, i fitted some 1.9 speedlines with some marangoni zeta linea tyres in place of the standard skinny buggers and they make such a big difference its unbeleivable

p.s. gt's are cool :D

Marlon, put a Ti poly lower engine mount in, like I did when I had DRU. OK, so I know it's not a suspension component as such, but it made a hell of a difference. Going back to suspension, if you are going to change the front dampers, perhaps the rears could benefit too?

yea, I meant to add new front and rear dampers below new tires, doh! just standard ones though as performance dampers seem abit pricey on a student budget.

gti rear axle and gti front struts, swap the springs for 40mm drop ones though or it`ll look like its pulling a wheelie like my mates did, it doesnt look lower at the front though, cause of the light engine i expect.

Any extra height at the front is probably what you'll need anyway Marlon, since I know what you'll be doing with it :D

lol, well tbh getting the front and rear suspension from a gti seems abit of a hassle really as I'd need to find a stacked gti (not rare I know but will need getting it somewhere sensible to do the swap).

Can someone confirm if the grpN beam mounts will fit on an GT rear beam?

I found them easy to do  lol @ holesaw!

All you need to do is, burn out the existing rubber bush with a blowlamp, get a hacksaw, remove the blade.

then insert the blade into the hole and reattach the hacksaw to the blade, cut through the collet, so it realises

it's tension, then knock them out with a flat bladed something.

Grp A bushes are good imo, and not too much for the road either.

I got the rubber out easily but took like an hour to get the metal bits out with a hammer + screwdriver.

Once you had the first one out the second one was easy, just put a socket in the hole and hammered it. ;)
