foreigner 0 Posted March 27, 2007 can I put coilovers instead of dampers only. I want to have it stiffer and also to put some more weight in tha car ?? If I could do it, what can i use ?
smckeown 1 Posted March 27, 2007 You cant put real oilovers as the spring is provided by torsian bars You can put adjustable dampening shocks on. put extra weight in ? don't see the point of that
Batfink 201 Posted March 27, 2007 its been discussed before. Are you wanting to improve the suspension or just run without torsion bars. If you want to improve the handling then you have to have rear turrets. If you fancy popping over maybe at the weekend I can show you my brothers 205 with all the work done

axnutty 10 Posted March 27, 2007 Ive seen a pic of a white 205 using rear coilovers, and ive also seen it done a longtime back on a Saxo. The guy had made up stub units that came out of the trailing arms facing inwards to the centre line of the car and then just had coilovers going up through the boot floor to turret tops as already mentioned. I dont know what he did to stop the trailing arms from coming off the tube axle though as without the torsion bars there would be nothing to hold it all together bar the ARB :S

Miles 331 1 Cars Posted March 27, 2007 You can but it's a fair amount of work, Year's ago a 205 in the Hot hatch had coil over damper's due to the reg's at the time, Also if you look at a C15 Van you'll find Coil over damper's on that of sorts
