aldo56 0 Posted March 26, 2007 okay bare with me cause this is going to be a long one. i originaly bought a 88 205 1600, and decided to stick a 1.9 engine in it. Im guessing this 1900 engine was phase 2 as it had a coil on the top of the inlet, where as the orginal did not. anyway that went fine and well untill i cracked the block so i sourced another 1900 engine (which also had a coil on the top of the inlet) and i just got it in. My problem now is ive got everthing wired up and it runs exept the oil temp gauge, water temp gauge and switch thing. Ive got a brown plug coming from these three sensors but nothing to plug them into. Im relatively sure that there was no plug for them before. Ive tried tracing the loom back to look for wires but i cant see any extras wires. The only extra wires i can see that i have is the brown plug that connects to the radiator (i think its a diagnostic plug?) any ideas? im totaly clueless as to where these wires go! have i mibby wired something up wrong? i can get pictures up if need be but i dont really think they would help much any help must appresciated! Grim.Badger 15 Posted March 27, 2007 If I understand you correctly you have one half of the 7-pin brown multiplug with 3 wires running into it. The multiplug should sit on top of the gearbox under the AFM but apparently some early looms don't have it. The wires that need attaching to the sensors should be part of the main engine loom. http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...=70790&st=0 This topic may help. Although I will admit there are some errors on it the sensors you mentioned should be labelled correctly.
aldo56 0 Posted March 27, 2007 yeh thats it ive got half of the brown plug, i cant seem to find the three wires either although i guess they must be there? thanks for hte reply, anyone know where they come out of on the early looms?
aldo56 0 Posted March 27, 2007 (edited) oh my other idea was to open up part of the loom as it comes into the engine bay and could run my own wires to the sensors if i know what colours to tap into? would it be the same as the brown plug diagram? Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted March 27, 2007 if you open up the loom you should find the missing wires anyway.
