What setup do you have? Best way to stop warping is to keep the brakes cool. Pop out your spots and ducted them to the brakes works well. After that and your looking at bigger discs.

Did you bed them in properly? Did you allow them to cool down properly after being on track on did you simply pull into the paddocks and stop after being at full bore? The discs are just big lumps of iron so they really shouldn't suffer too much from the effects of braking something as light as a 205.

Standard Brembo disks from GSF or any reputatable brand should be fine - a friend of mine runs the same setup as you (alas with 1.9 disks but they're the same size as 1.6) and despite alot of track abuse the brakes have never complained once :)

a few ideas..

What type DS pads are they? (DS Performance or ds2500?)

Did you fit the disc and pad at the same time?

Did you heat cycle the disc?

Did you check runout before and after fitting?

Did you degrease the disc before fitting the pads?

I have heard that the DS3000 pads can be too much for standard 205 discs when pushed very hard. The DS2500 should be fine though.

there DS Performance pads run out was not checked but discs were cleaned befor i fitted them pads were also fitted at the same time . im not sure what u mean by heat cycle the disc ? the brakes had about 1k of road use (not hard) befor the track day and were fine befor it .i ordered a set of omp group N discs last nite any one used them befor ?

if i new about the Brembo discs being up to it i would have used them but to late now :D

When you say you have badly worn discs (and Im not trying to be cynical) what are the symptoms? Do you have vibration when you brake? Have you checked the disc with a straight edge or dial gauge to check runout?

My suspicion is that you have pickup on the pads and the discs are fine. Ive had this a lot in the past and its usually sorted by replacing the pads. Ther ehave been lots of similar possts about this in the past and teh consensus is that discs are very unlikely to warp these days. If they do there is probably a manufactiriung problem and you should return them to point of sale.

Ive used many a set of pads but very few discs but had lots of vibration through the pedal after prolongued rally and track abuse.

Hope this helps

Rich

If they're warped, they're warped. Get a better/different make.

Partialy siezed caliper? Pads stuck? Left-foot braking wrong?

OK DS Performance are not good enough for trackday.

Have you measured the runout? How "warped" are they? DS Performance may have left deposits on the disc

Heat Cycle the disc - very important. Also you must check runout. I fitted some new discs to mine once and the runout was terrible. ended up sending them back and keeping the originals.

it's important to remember - NO IRON DISC can withstand more then 650 deg. DS2500 and DS3000 work to 900 deg plus. Go with a decent disc (EBC castings are very high quality) and decent pad - ds2500 or Yellowstuff and decent fluid and you will be fine, but always bear in mind just because brake fade hasn't occured doesn't mean the discs won't warp.

If all else fails carry more speed into the corner!!!

your using 1.6 discs? asin the solid no midle vent style disc? if so use the 1.9 discs with the vent down the middle, i run black dimond discs with red stuff pads, they have bin fine for me

I use the DS2500 pads and ATE Power discs from ECP and they seem good so far.

I switched to Yellowstuff pads and prefer them to DS3000s on my 205 now, not as aggressive but seem to be smoother.

The comments on not warping discs are interesting. I have the warped disc sensation on my 307 brake set up, when braking down from speed. They are Peugeot discs and Peugeot pads on there. I have not checked the status of the pad yet, however have just bought some Apec discs (you cannot get uprated ones for the 266mm 34mm 307 disc) and some standard Mintex pads as again I struggled to find uprated ones of those, though I believe the C2 VTR / VTS has them.

Should I just try swapping the pads first and see if the disc warp goes away or should I change the lot? The warp seemed to come after a trackday at Cadwell, which involved heavy braking!

Another vote for yellows. Fine on road and track with standard disks and decent fluid. Unfadable so far and work from cold.

1.6 discs are vented - they are the same as 1.9 except for a different hub offset.

Have a read of this article about warped brake discs...

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_warped_brakedisk.shtml

1k of gentle road use is not enough to fully bed in pads... they need a proper heat cycle before being used hard.

And btw I use standard Brembo discs, with Mintex 1155 (front) and 1144 (rear) pads, and they've taken everything I've thrown at them so far. After bedding them in of course :)
