pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted March 24, 2007 Can't be certain as I've not had a 1.6 box fited for a while & its a while since I've driven a car with one fitted but working it out mathmatically I get somewhere about 2800rpm. The standard 1.6 GTi gearbox does 18.9 mph / 1k rpm in fifth. Graham.
matty_gti 20 Posted March 24, 2007 (edited) The standard 1.6 GTi gearbox does 18.9 mph / 1k rpm in fifth. - Is that somthing you have just worked out or somthing you just know?, do you have any calculations to work out things like that?. With the above in mind if im correct, it works out at 18.9 mph x 3 (k RPM) = 56mph in fifth, where i on the other hand am doing 51mph...could this be down to the size of wheel? Thanks.
