Inlet Manifold Gasket May Be On Wrong, What Do You Think?

Recommended Posts

Anton green

A mate bolted up the inlet manifold using new gaskets etc while I was in the house making the teas, on my return we found a corner of the gasket protuding (take a look). Is this a normal 'extra bit' or will the manifold have to come off again to see what is going on? Mi16 Engine This may seem a bit of a noddy question, but I have no experience of anything to do with gaskets and dont know if if sometimes they have extra bits or are generic parts or something, so thought I'd check..

Altho most manifold gaskets fit more than one car yours looks like its been put on the backwards tbh I would take it off and check it out properly.

That's how mine is, it should stick out a bit on the opposite corner as well. Must be for a different engine or inlet as well.
