Name That Connector..!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

Having removed and replaced the engine in my '89 1.6 GTi, I've relised how shoddy my labelling skills were on the wiring loom and now have a number of connectors which I have no idea where to put!

Could anyone take a glance and give me an idea of where they go? (they're at the front on the gearbox side of the engine)

Whoever's idea it was at peugeot to label the wires with numbers instead of colours needs a serious talking to. If you're a bit heavy handed rubbing the dirt off the wire the number comes off too

Thank you kindly

wo, you boys are quick!

Cheer's for that, I'll take a look when its light. I've also got a load of wires on the 'sub' loom that goes to the rad.

Think i've got the fan motor and the thermoswitch ones, but there's two brown and one dirty great yellow one on the same loom? I've got a (naff) photo if it helps..

Ive also just replaced my 89' 1.6 engine.

The yellow five socket plug is an earthed connector that plugs onto a simple few prongs thats bolted to the chassis just above the horn on the inner panel....any close up pics?...kinda hard to tell what ya' looking at.

Im pretty sure the brown plug you've circled in the pic is just left unplugged but ill have a look at my loom tomorrow.

Cheers matt,

I've found where the yellow one goes, fits into a socket with another similar plug just behind the headlight where you said.

The other brown one next to the yellow has one fat red wire on it, I'll see if I can take a better picture of it tomorrow

Done it,

The big flat white and brown ones go into the fusebox coming from the battery +ve.

Yellow one fits into a socket behind the headlight.

The red one is spare

Cheers
