Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone help me?? after putting my S16 head back on there seems to be a pipe on the right hand side of the engine (thin steel pipe). It goes by the side of the rocker cover. It does not go anywhere...... Does anyone have any hi-res pics to help me out please?....Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Thanks for that, but im looking for a 'close-up' view of the engine. The steel pipe (split into 2) that comes up from the front of the inlet goes around the side of the rocker cover, but one branches off to the right at a 45 degree angle. i cant see a pipe that goes onto that! The car is running but wont idle as if theres air being drawn in. By one r two pics i have seen there seems to be a pipe going down towards the gearbox. but i cant find anything!

Have a look at the parts cd and look at a late 405 with XU10J4. Engine is the same, so it might reveal what your looking for.

could be the vaccuum pipe for the servo or the pipe to the charcoal canister.

it aint that mate. by looking at photos i have seen from other s16's, that pipe seems to go onto a round clear plastic thing screwed onto the battery box. i have tried blocking the pipe off too, and the car still runs crap.

the round clear plastic thing is for the MAP sensor as the other line goes direct to the ecu from what I remember.

Should the vacuum from the ECU go into the EGR valve? the plastic clear thing has broken see
