Ok, had a bit of a search, but I wanted to clarify what I am doing!

I have new bearing in the drum (thanks for the advice with a press!! - I think I would have hurt myself trying to remove it! :D ) the bearing pictured below before it went in (another part number for the list: IR2220 B) ) It fitted all ok but is about 37mm in lenght, it came with a new circlip and inner seal.

The 64p question is

WILL I need to remove the small ring at the base of the shaft? (I think in one thread someone mentioned it??? B) ) any hints on removing it!?!?!?!

Or is there something wrong? like the bearing is wrong (national motor factor wholesaler supplied part :o )

Or is it designed to have 3mm of bearing overhanging the threaded part of the hub? :P

Many Thanks in advance for your comments, tips etc...

Cheers

Michael
