Recommended Posts

 something i don't understand fully. i've modified engines in the past and uprated both camshafts but on this site i hear alot of talk about just uprating the inlet. i've never heard of this before. what are the reasons dor doing this?

It's because the exhaust port flows too well on the 16V head. The aim is to restrict the exhaust flow a bit to maintain the ideal 80% of inlet flow.

Manufacturers spend thousands on r&d, so its not always easy to improve on, but then again they often have to take other things into consideration for a production car.

The proof is always in the testing

It all depends on:

*your planned use for the car

*your wallet
