Where To Buy Parts For My Track Car

Recommended Posts

shings

Right I am new to Peugeots so I dont know who are the suppliers or stockists of new and 2nd hand parts.

I need for a 205 GTI with Mi16 engine...

1.9 items...

bottom arms

Drop links

Drive shafts both sides

Fuel tank

For GTi6 calipers

Ferrodo DS2500 or 3000 pads

Any help is greatly appreciated on where to start the search- ideally I want NEW GENUINE parts unless uprated parts are available cheaper and are better.

For all service items like the driveshafts your local German/Swedish & French (GSF) or Euro Car parts (ECP) will supply all of those, worth asking for GKN shafts when ordering and Lemforder drop links, all better quality than the cheap'o' stuff they can supply, Fuel tank post a wanted link in the for sale/wanted section as it's a item not many people keep when breaking a car.

Not sure on the DS's but I do supply Mintex if needed.

forum sponsors for specialist bits, then std things fron the main dealer (stealer) or motor factors. I must say though Skip Brown Cars (01829 720492) have been very helpfull to me, as have Shenpar (one of the forum sponsors).

Things like the calipers are quite often found on EBAY Etc. Tho (I think) are not to expensive new.

Hope that helps and welcome to the flying bean can club!! :D

Right

Yes already got the brakes... will have a word with Mike and see what he does.

Tank- I'd love it but Dorset is a bit far- big thanks for the offer..

Drop links and bottom arms both sides = £70 quid inc vat for the lot from a mate, trade.

Drive shafts from a mate at GSF £40 + vat each for the GKN ones exchange.

Cheers all

Oh- and the 309 idea..

I know what peoples opinions are on this BUT I am gonna go with the advice of my tuner and stick to the 205 stuff..

Besides I have adjustable alloy strut tops anyway...

I did question it with Karl but he's a firm believer of stick with the right item for the right car.. had the same discussion with him RE: xr4x4 driveshafts on a 4x4 cossie (as they're longer and prevent the pop out problem)

If I need to or want to replace them I will do.... but I also have a mate who worked for pro drive on the chassis engineering for the WRC cars...

He lives 5 mins away

He now does loads of stuff for Brisca stock cars and I am sure with a little bit of a nudge and some of the green stuff and I'll be able to get some nice adjustable bottom arms (tca's in ford world)

but you'll still need longer shafts, remeber the hubs are the same ;) so there's no change there :D and same gearbox  just the wishbones are longer and thus give better geomatry (spelling) :(

any how, your car ;)

i'm thinking adj bot arms, but also goign 309 shafts :D

I think I am gonna give him the s*itty old ones to f*** about with and go with std stuff for now.

So many questions- only done 1 track day so far and its getting silly..

What happened to cheap fun

Jake

(ps I am already looking for a new engine for an NMS rebuild)
