Driver's Seat Replacement?

Recommended Posts

2052006

My driver's seat bolsters are a little worse for wear, is it possible to mount say a passenger seat (ie in good condition) on to the driver's frame - so as to retain the original driver's seat mount etc so the seat back can go forward and back and people can get into the rear?

I would just replace the bolsters but the material has worn too thin... ;)

And I want to retain the original cloth seats (ph2)

Cheers

Pete

The passenger seat will swap straight over onto the drivers subframe. The only issue is that the knob for adjusting the seat can interfere with the lever for tilting the seat, but if you bend the lever a little it's fine.

Don't worry about the drivers seat, it will pass the MOT as long as the passengers seat slides forward. Apparently on a lot of new cars the drivers seat does not go forward.

I've done the 5-door runner trick to lower my drivers seat so my drivers seat does not tilt forward anymore.

I have a spare passenger seat in black & red/black check cloth - in good condition - if you are interested.

Why not swap the base cloth over and use a new bolster should take less than three hours and will look alot better.

I thought about doing this but thought it would probably be easier just getting a whole new seat, ie a passenger one with no wear....

Roy - is your's from a ph 2 car, if so I may well be interested?

Cheers
