pee vee 1 Posted March 10, 2007 hi all. are the dizzys on alloy block Mi16s literally JUST a dizzy, or does the ECU have some say over the timing of the ignition??? also, what advantages/dis-advantages are there to running a 8v dizzy on an mi16 engine (with conversion plate) thanks!! Ahl 4 Posted March 10, 2007 The timing is controlled by the ECU on all of the mi16s, just the alloy mi16 has that dizzy cap to distribute the spark. also, what advantages/dis-advantages are there to running a 8v dizzyon an mi16 engine (with conversion plate) Its an easy way to run carbs. Apart from that, it is a disadvantage over the proper mi16 management.
