ive not long finished my mi16 service and the cambelt is whinning like a supercharger, the tensioners are set properly.there seems to be more from the exhaust tensioner?does it need adjusting as ive only had it running 3 times?it runs spot on but i m worried that its too tight but it feels ok any ideas?

It's too tight most probably. They do have a slight whine I find usually anyway, but the difference between it sounding noisy and ok is only a slight different in tension. The exhaust side tensioner adjusts the overall tension the most I find.

Theres no such thing as running them in. They won't last long if they are too tight.

I've always found that the inlet side tensioner is on max tension and I just adjust the exhaust side tensioner to set the final tension.

is it best to undo the bottom mount bolt an top bolt and jack it up to get to the exhaust tensioner?
