vern 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Trying to sort the fueling on my TT, and noticed the map sensor gives a negative value when idling and reving to about 4k all with car stationary, is this right?.
pdd144c 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Yes that's normal. It won't give a positive reading until the turbo comes on boost.
Malachy 0 Posted March 8, 2007 yep as said its completly normal , as when not on boost the engine is sucking in air thus meaning a vacuum thus meaning - reading when on boost the air os forced iin not sucked in this means there is pressure and thus meaning a + reading although saying this most ecus should be using KPA as the reading, this means the engine will be reading anything from 30-50kpa at idle 100kpa at wide open throttle on a na (100kpa it atmospheric pressure) and over 100kpa when on boost.
