Engine Cuts Off When Hot Between Round 2000 Rpm

Recommended Posts

Guest Peki

Its been I while since I have been in "engine maintenance" topic.

Recently my gti ('91, 1.9 no cat.) started to cut off when very worm. And it happens in "city driveing" mode between 2 and 3000 rpms. I have no problem on highway. When I rev it , engine works normal, idleing is allmost perfect.

Nozzles are clean, fuel filter cca.8000 km old, spark plugs are 25000 km old.

Cables are 3.5 years old (46.000 km)

Any clues :)

You could try the ECU temperature sensor, this makes the engine run (very) rich when warm but is fine when cold.
