driversdomainuk 8 Posted March 5, 2007 Hi Recently bought a 309GTI front ARB for my 205GTI - my garage are saying this is a 22mm ARB size and Peugeot have stopped making these! Is the 309GTI front ARB really a 22mm - also if Peugeot have stopped making them who else could get them - sounds a bit strange to me. cheers
Martin W 0 Posted March 5, 2007 I've just bought a set from Rally Design, they have them in stock.
Duroc 2 1 Cars Posted March 5, 2007 The ones I had off RD a couple of years ago didn't have a groove cut in the near-side one to allow it to fit over the locating ridge on that side of the ARB. Really Helpful! I got one cut in OK, but it should have been made properly to start with . Don't know whether any other makes are like this.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted March 6, 2007 Is the 309GTI front ARB really a 22mm - also if Peugeot have stopped making them who else could get them - sounds a bit strange to me.The only 309 with a 22mm fron ARB is a lower spec model, first one listed here. The GTi had either a 21mm or 17mm one but not many people have reported finding one with a 17mm one fitted. I got some of these bushes from peugeot last year without any problems & I'm ordering another set tomorrow.(5094 50 & 5094 51 for a 21mm arb, 5094 42 & 5094 43 for a 17mm arb) Graham. driversdomainuk 8 Posted March 7, 2007 Rally Design only had 17mm ones - although one of our factors managed to find some... Quite please I have got the rare 22mm arb as it will be interesting to see how it works with my newly fitted 25mm rear arb
Martin W 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Quite please I have got the rare 22mm arb as it will be interesting to see how it works with my newly fitted 25mm rear arb I'm trialing 25mm ARB and 23mm Torsion bars on the rear and 309 GTI ARB on the front. Will be testing it out at Lklandow on 7th April. Next is to investigate higher poundage springs on the front. Although this is a track only car, cant imagine this will be very comfortable on the road!
boombang 2 Posted March 7, 2007 For referance, Peugeot still do the 20 and 22mm arb bushes. I think this is because they are listed also as 205 parts and come up as 205 part numbers. They just seem to discontinue 309 bits these days.

I really dont care how hard it is on the road, to me all I want is results and being as though guys in old F1 cars use the same track as me there should be no "bouncing" issues as the track is very smooth. pdd144c 0 Posted March 7, 2007 You could go even bigger and use a 25mm front ARB.

If you do get them and can get more please let me know mate as I'm trying out a set of 20mm ones on mine instead and it may be a tight fit. The dealer local to me don't hold much stock at all so it might be that yours have some old group stock?
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted March 7, 2007 I've just rung to check & he dug further into the system some more, they are no longer availavble. Just waiting to hear back from Peugeot parts now. I've checked one GSF, ECP & Neat, none show them as available. Graham.
