Bump Stop Cup Bolt Thread? M10 X 1.5?

Just wondered what it is. Whilst the car has no rear beam I am taking the opportunity to drill what it left of the old ones out - however I have no idea what size to drill out to as no idea what goes back in there!

Pretty sure those bolts are M8 std. threads.

So just drill with 6.5mm for a start I guess.

You are right there!

Any idea how the hell to drill the old ones out?

A nice sharp titanium drill bit and it is barely making a dent - tried a smaller one to give it a helping hand and that didn't go anywhere either!

If you've still got the head of the bolt, weld a bar onto it & turn that.

The heat from the welding should help freeit a little also.

Graham.

If the bolt head had sheared off I would give what's left of the bolt a smack with a chiesel to make a small dent in the centre of the rests of the bolt. Then start drilling with 1.5mm drill, then go to 4mm, then 6.5mm and then try to tap the threads.

Looks like I am off to buy some new drill bits that aren't made of chocolate ;)
