Guest JonRP Posted February 28, 2007 Want to know if I have missed anything else before I spend out on a new set of injectors, if anyone can suggest anything, will be most appreciated... Changed the head gasket, all back together fine, just took a bit longer then planned due to other commitments (head ws off for 6 weeks). While the head was off, had the injectors cleaned, all came back sorted and OK according to the report. Was not able to reconnect them for 5 weeks though. Went to start up after the head refit and nothing firing, spins OK, just no fuel being injected. Fuel at rail, lots of spark, changed the tachometric relay for good measure, still no joy. I have unplugged the injectors and put an LED accross the socket and cranked, the LED lights up. Put 12V to the injectors, nothing, no noise, dead. This is the same for all 4. Does this sound as though the injectors have all called it a day at the same time? Should they have gone back in the fuel rail and been filled with fuel ASAP, can the corrode internally? Any ideas? Many thanks Jon
sorr 0 Posted February 28, 2007 Did you have them professionally cleaned? I had one injector stop working after cleaning, advice from the company that cleaned them was you should use them straight away as the cleaning fluid can cause sticking if not flushed through with fuel, on the car, ASAP. I sent it back and after a quick zap in the ultrasonic bath it worked again.
Guest JonRP Posted March 5, 2007 Thanks Sorr, Rang the cleaning company (www.injectorcleaning.co.uk, excellent service, highly recommended) and Graham there said send them back to him to have a look, sometimes the cleaning fluid can dry up if left. Sent them back Thursday, Saturday morning, back with me, freed off and cleaned. In the car, fired straight away. She lives again! John
sorr 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Glad it is fixed . Same place I used and the same issue, but I can also say they were superb at resolving the issue.
