zilog 0 Posted February 27, 2007 I am planning on drilling new holes and moving the front suspension top mounts (on a 205 GTI) to the inner/rear about 10mm in each direction as this is all I suspect my konis with stock spring diameter allow. I have been told this should provice about 1 degree negative camber, and the increase of caster should also increase camber while cornering. Will this affect handling anything at all? I am not a racer but I would still like my car to perform as good as possible using the stuff I have handy.
Sandy 191 Posted February 27, 2007 Yes it does, but you need about 15mm to get 1 degree.
nick 3 Posted February 27, 2007 Why not do as everyone else does and fit 309 arms and shafts? Nick

nick 3 Posted February 27, 2007 Good point...... Just seems a bit extreme to modify the shell when there is an easy bolt on solution, each to there own.... Nick
bren_1.3 1 Posted February 27, 2007 Just seems a bit extreme to modify the shell when there is an easy bolt on solution, each to there own.... its only 3 small drilled holes, although you might be cutting it close with the outer bolt hole coming too close to the strut top hole. having said that. when those gay m7 studs shear no-one ever replaces them or drills them out so you could get away with just using the inner two studs. I was thinking of moving the studs in my spare set of top mounts, and maybe reinforce the entire thing with a sheet of metal to give it a more neutral MOT-friendly appeal.
