Turbo Replacement

Recommended Posts

Ant

Well ive blown the seals on my cars turbo, but had a spare 2.0 turbo lump i brought for spares ages ago. Went to swap turbos yesterday only to find the turbo on the spare lump was seized ;)

I'm pretty sure i ready somewhere the 2.0 is running a T28 ?

But the flange is different ? Is this just on the T28 for pugs / cits or all T28s.

There are a few T28s for a Nissan on ebay. Are these suitable and are they are straight swap.. Or do they have a different flange ?

Cheers

Ant

As far as I know there is no one running a different turbo on a 2.0T on the standard 2.0T manifold. The ones I know running a different one all use the TT manifold or a DP one.

Now I know it should be possible to make a hybrid turbo by using the turbine side of the old T25 (solved the problems with downpipe and flange) and fit a T28 compressor wheel and housing from a Nissan. Some people have effectively done this to T16 engines as well and I am having a go at it myself as well.

Sorry - dont think my question was very clear.. I just need to replace the existing turbo on my 2.0 lump.

Just wondered if they are fitted to any other car, other than the cits / pugs, so i can buy and bolt straight on ?

Cheers

no..sorry they were only fitted to the cit/pugs 2.0T XU lumps. The turbine housing was specifically designed by Garrett for PSA.

cheers Hilgie.. Think ill look at alternatives, as the manifold is limiting anyway, so no point on spending money on a dead horse

it might be worth looking over on 200sx owners club or GTIROC.com as they use t25's and t28's, and also have extensive knowledge of which flanges fit what.. you may pick up a cheap either straight swap from there, as they like fitting 3037's and alike.
