Included Angle Question

Recommended Posts

Owain1602

Hi, on a 307 Estate 2003 that has hit a curb at a fair speed can you work out what has been bent during the impact from these measurements?

Specification Camber = 0deg +- 30 mins

SAI = 11deg 41mins

Included Angle 11deg 41mins +-30mins

Measured Values Camber = +1deg

SAI = 0deg 40mins

What do you say has been bent?

I'd say it's pretty inconclusive from the evidence presented - particularly as you haven't mentioned the measured included angle. The error in SAI is huge but I must admit that I'm not familiar with the 307 (too modern for me :) ) It seems likely that the bottom radius arm has been moved backwards by the impact to reduce the SAI. I'd be looking seriously at the location for the longitudinal position of the radius arm. The included angle is unlikely to be affected because of the inherent strength of the steeering head.
