SamGTi 0 Posted February 24, 2007 My car has been having problems idling and I have found that the thin hose that runs from under the SAD has come loose but where does it go to? I can't find it anywhere and yes, I have searched! It's only about 10mm thick and about 10 inches long. Where does the other end go? Also, will any hose that fits do the job or do I have to buy the specific hose? (my current one is split anyway!)
sonofsam 5 Posted February 24, 2007 The SAD should have one pipe that comes from the bottom of the inlet manifold to the back of it (side with plug fitting) & one from the SAD to the inlet system between the AFM & throttle body. From the search Any 10mm rubber or silicone hose will do
SamGTi 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Wonderful! You must be better at searches than I am! Thanks very much!
sonofsam 5 Posted February 24, 2007 No worries, but all I did was type in 'sad pipe' on the search and picked the first topic at random and boyaa, there was answer But yes I am better than most
SamGTi 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Right, I have tried to find where this pipe goes for the last hour and I still can't find it! It starts at the small disc shaped thing under the dizzy and water pump (isn't this the SAD?) but I don't know where it goes to. As far as I know, that's the SAD but if it's not then silly me! The SAD has 2 pipes coming from it apparently, this thing I am looking at only has one coming off it at a 45 degree angle. If anybody could give me some further instructions (preferably with pics!) that would be great. My car starts but idles high then dies after 10 seconds! Sorry for sounding so dim but it's really annoying me now!
sonofsam 5 Posted February 24, 2007 The small disc type thing under your dizzy is the vacuum advance. Pictures and explanation of connections are here http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...um+advance+pipe
