skeggyrik 3 Posted February 21, 2007 (edited) I've taken my lower mount off and the rubber mount is set in the "frame" as in 1) pictured. I presume the movement it controls is in the direction shown on the fantastic diagram? My mount is currently as shown in 1) above. So a couple of questions 1. is the orientation in 1) correct or should it be as in 2) ?? 2. On fitting a new standard mount I presume orientating it as in 2) would give more resistance to movement without being as harsh a the solid rubber Group N type? I've been in a car with a Group N mount and didn't like the vibes it gave. thoughts? Anyone have an idea of the prices of standard style mount? pug or otherwise? Cheers Rich Hoping first effort at posting a pic works, took me hours it did! Edited February 21, 2007 by skeggyrik
Ahl 4 Posted February 21, 2007 1. Thats the original orientation, yes. 2. Yes, you can fit it horizontally. I have done this with a xantia turbo mount (which is apparently a bit thicker, though it looks the same to me tbh). There are no harsh vibes, feels the same as before and its still in one piece after 40k or so. I think it cost me £11.

I also recommend replacing the top engine mounts. Higgy.

The GSF mount appears to be all the same part number across most of the XU engined cars. There's alot using the mount part number N10126A (£8) and few using N10126 (£6) Am I better off going for OE parts when it comes to mounts? Is the xantia turbo mount a different part number to others when buying from citroen? Stiffer I presume.

I might be able to find the Prt No. Just ask for Xantia turbo petrol. Not sure on quality of parts compared to OEM. But its only £11 from Citroen.
