smckeown 1 Posted February 20, 2007 Hi all I need to know what size bleed nipple goes into the rear calipers. My bro managed to shear one off then manged to get it out but now i need a new one. Cheers Guys. I have no idea, but I bought such parts from http://www.biggred.co.uk/ recently and they were the cheapest I could find; plus they obviously know what the correct sizes are. dd_156ar 0 Posted February 20, 2007 I just took my broken one to the local motor factors and they compared it to those they had in stock and sold me 4 nice new ones... about 40p each I think.

Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted February 22, 2007 Often wondered, would a small bolt do the job with a copper washer on it? I know bleeding would be a bit of a pain but it would be stronger in the long run?

joni 0 Posted March 14, 2007 Front & rear nipples are M7 x 1mm. Graham. Trying to replace my 205 1.6 gti rear beam with a 309 gti disc beam One of my caliper bleed nipples needed a 8mm socket to undo it. Does that mean its likely that the hole has been retapped? The other caliper has a snapped bleed nipple so i don't know whether i need an M7 bleed nipple, standard as you say, or an M8?! Any help appreciated!
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted March 14, 2007 The size of the bleed nipple head doesn't always correlate to the thread size. I've had them with 7mm & 8mm heads but the same M7 thread. If you manage to get the sheared bleed nipple out in one piece best check the thread. Graham.
