ALEX 98 1 Cars Posted February 19, 2007 It's done it twice on me now, I really have to throw the car about to make it do it, (the cars been off the road a while , god I've missed it ) The power comes back on again straight away, but I'd like to get it sorted as it's causing me to lift off mid bend. Its as if there's a loose connection somewhere, any Ideas where to check first?

hengti 2 Posted February 19, 2007 i don't know how to link to other posts, but the one i was thinking of is titled 'engine cuts out on hard corners' and was started by axnutty a couple of weeks ago it might give you a few ideas, mainly electrical i've had fuel surge myself with little more than half a tank of fuel - but only on track days. imo you'd have to be driving like a loon to experience fuel surge from half a tankful on the public roads

Do the lights dim / flicker when this happens? Graham.

Yeah, checked that one, the nuts still tight, I need to make sure all the wires are still connected to it though in the daylight. I didn't notice the lights dim when it did it. I'll check the Distributor wire, ingnition amplifier plug clip, coil connection, and the black box on slam pannel wires...... When I get the chance
findlay 0 Posted February 21, 2007 When I get the chance Hopefully before you're stranded at the side of the road in a mobile reception black hole, when its p!ssing down with rain, its pitch black night and its totally conked out. Last question - does the rev counter cut-out when it happens?

Ahl 4 Posted February 21, 2007 Check your tachymetric relay with a known good one also. When mine was going it would cut out when throwing the car about.
