Well after going out to the car today to do a few more things i noticed that when the ignition is switched on only the fuel guage actual moves......... i know the instrument fuse isn't dead because the fuel guage is working so something must be wrong with my side of the mi wiring :D ...........

I'll try the old earth the sensors out on the block trick tomorrow but if it still doesn't do anything looks like i'll be having fun checking my wiring  ..... i know that i found matching plugs and some wire numbers in the glovebox/ fusebox areas as in the drivers footwell areas :wacko: ............ are the sensor wires fused as such?? mmmm puzzled...

might just join the corresponding wires straight to the panel :lol:

Well interesting that the earthing test didn't work ..... bugger must be the wiring then B)

Whilst poking round in the glovebox i was the looking at the two brown plugs looked at the colour wires coming out and noticed that they were the same colours and numbers as connecting to the dash but can't quite see where the other side of the plugs go to ....looks to lead outside buit couldn't find the correct wires in the engine bay :o ........... bloody french................ least the starter side of the wiring works :D

You've not just done something daft like disconnected the larger brown multiplug on the engine loom (just above and to the left of the clutch) as that would have that effect.

Reverse light wouldn't work if that was the case, but (assuming you've got a later 205) the engine would still start and run fine, the rev counter would work, and if you wired it up, so would the K-light.

Mmm double checked the plugs and all in secure.... gonna have to wait till the weekend now B) ..... mmm thought i had all this sorted............... try and get some fresh petrol in if i have time tomorrow and fingers crossed it will start...... new plugs cap and leads....... then can see if rev counter is working :P:D

French wiring and me don't mix obviously :)

I have life!! well sort of ...half...... :).............. looking at the brown multiplugs i noticed that wire 2 ( thick red un) was going to the other plug and came out as thin yellow wire ( 32a i think) and vice versa switched the wires over and wahye got some sort of flickering action from the oil pressure guage!!!

Well its a start!!! haha B)

Thats how it should be, almost. Wire #2 goes in one side & comes out the other as 2 & 32a from the same pin. Ignition switched lives for the coil & tachymetric/ fuel pump relay.

With only the ignition switched on the fuel guage is the only one that will move a noticable amount but thats only if it has fuel in. The others won't show any indication unless the car is warm in which case the water temp guage will register something. Have you got the lamps in the centre of the dash with the ignition on?

But on the plus point it now sparks and runs............. but couldn't leaving it running as i remembered that there is no coolant :)

Thats the side the yellow wire (32a) should be coming out of pin 1 on that plug. :o There shouldn't be one going in from the car side though.
