jackherer 543 Posted February 18, 2007 there is every chance they will be worse than the pug dampers. bilstein streetline shocks are worse than OE so a cheapo ebay brand is likely to be rubbish IMO.
Guest cossiecrew Posted February 19, 2007 oh well to late just bought a set £140 delivered
GLPoomobile 958 Posted February 19, 2007 G-Max. Abbreviation of Gay To The Max. Probably fine for slamming your average 1.1 Corsa on it's arse but can't imagine it is going to do the 205's handlng any favours!
Guest cossiecrew Posted February 19, 2007 oh well its only going to get abuse round a track sure it will be fine for what i want
chris1986 1 Posted February 19, 2007 i had the full g max kit on my old zetec s, i thought it was really good, bit harsh but fine on track, better than some of the other kits fo rthe money. i tried a few makes.
GLPoomobile 958 Posted February 19, 2007 oh well its only going to get abuse round a track sure it will be fine for what i want May not be so bad then. I wouldn't want a set on a road 205, but if you just want a lower and stiffer set up for not much cash, then I guess it probably does what it says on the tin. Obviously never going to be as good as your Bilsteins and Konis et al. Let us know though eh, 'cos nobody ever mentions GMax on here (or admits to having them ) so we may as well have some constructive feedback

Guest cossiecrew Posted February 19, 2007 but if you just want a lower and stiffer set up for not much cash, thats exactly what i wanted
jonnie205 1 Posted February 19, 2007 i fitted a set of g max to a customers car oince and found it to be pretty good, dampers have nice valving and rears seem a small amount stiffer than std which was spot on
kenp 3 Posted March 9, 2007 (edited) We fitted a set of G-Max shocks to my gf's 1.9 - kept the ride hide standard. Replaced (at the time) 140k original shocks, 20k later and it still goes like it's on rails. Billies would have been my first choice but didn't have the spare cash at the time. So all in all perfectly happy with G-Max ones. (I should mention that the gf is a bit of a petrol head too and doesn't hang about - I told her she drives like a bloke lol) Edited March 9, 2007 by kenp
pugrallye 0 Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) G Max are the new?! (old) name for the suspension dept of what was JAMEX, for their price they are damn good and they are not an ebay jobbie, have been around for donkeys years. I have the shocks on my rallye, as i was strapped for cash one year and it was MOT time, and they are still on there to this day, as for using them on the road, they are less harsh than say konis, and to be honest i prefer them (having a full set of konis sat there for the car too lol) Edited March 13, 2007 by pugrallye
