PAS With Carbs

Recommended Posts

mos

hi,

i have tried searching but no joy

i know that p/s with 45s can be done as i had this fitted to a 205 i had about 5 years ago.

but how, one of my mates is fitting it to his 8v and its fouling the alternator but i cant for the life of me remember how the clearance required etc was achieve

i know you can use the electric pump and i have this syetm on my own 8v but the feel is not as nice as the proper pump and belt set up

i know some of you guys have both carbs and p/s like i used to have but how have you done it

help please!!!

thanks

well i have maanged to suss this

with a lot of grinding of the alloy bracket that mounts the alternator and pump to the engine and also fabricating a new metal bracket to mount the p/s pump slightly lower.

i also then used a different adjuster bracket (not sure what is off, its one i had lying around) to gain some extra adjustment on the belt and used a belt to suit.

so it can be done, but its a bit of a pain, lots of trial and error and very time consuming

although if i were to do it again i bet i would manage it in a quarter of the time

thanks

The alternater sits higher up above the pump so would catch on the carbs.
