Craigb 2 Posted February 12, 2007 I did my first road rally of the season on saturday night , well at least i started my first one . Prior to the rally , because of all the niggley problems last year , it has had a really good test over 200 miles in the last two weeks . all of which has been faultless. Come saturdays and the start of the Bruce Robinson , everything fine on the run up , the first section was cleaned and the engine was sweet . About 2mins into the 2nd competitive section , i slowed for a code board and it died , then it fired , and 100 metres down the road it died . An under bonnet inspection revealed that the injectors were firing even though the engine wasn't running . Then they stopped , so i put the bonnet down , and did another 150 meters then same again . I believe it will be a wire or some thing dropping them to earth , but how bloody frustrating . It nearly had a flame thrown at it.. Lets see if Karl at Emerald can point me in the right direction . A couple of good points though , the new spherical top mounts improve the front end , and the exhaust was quiet enough to go through noise without having to resort to the Brillo pad
